Easy to handle cruiser with a spacious interior and all the comforts of home.

One of the best features of the Sun Odyssey 409 is how easy she is to sail short-handed, with mainsheet controls close to the helm, a self-tacking jib and single line reefing, cruising is effortless.

‘Good Solutions’ is ready to go with a fresh antifoul and an engine service completed in October 2018 she has near-new Raymarine electronics and a sail wardrobe to admire.

There is the option of a full enclosure in the cockpit, with bimini, dodger and sprayhood which is perfect for New Zealand’s variable conditions. This is all easily retracted away for when the sun does shine, perfect for an al fresco lunch whilst at anchor. Her fold-out cockpit table has storage in the centre, cup holders, lifting flaps either side and LED lights for evening ambience.

With twin helms, the cockpit is roomy, with all lines running neatly back into the cockpit. There is a Raymarine Hybrid Touch display in the cockpit for easy navigating.

She features a hard chine, which contributes to the boat’s upwind performance and her Yanmar 40hp saildrive spins a three-bladed Gori prop with overdrive which was sourced locally.

The original owner also upgraded to a 200-litre water tank, which makes longer trips at sea a breeze.

The forward cabin is a third of the yacht’s length with plenty of space for storage.  There are two aft berths which are perfect for family and friends or simply to store extra sails.

The saloon offers a large table to starboard with space for 4-5 people to dine on, there is plenty of natural light in this space and the galley which flushes through from the eight portholes and hatches. Lockers either side of the saloon provides ample storage. The galley has a small double sink, top loading fridge, swing-out rubbish bin and an Eno gimballed two-burner stove and oven.

In the head, the shower is kept separate with a Perspex door, keeping spray off the toilet and towels. The hot water cylinder heats from the motor or 240V shore power.

Overall, Good Solution offers an effortless sailing escape and comes with home comforts such as a spacious bathroom and living space.
